Mind Sports

Where are the mind sports? There are all sorts of physical sports to compete against others in speed, dexterity, reflex, aim, strength & stamina, yet there are few for the mind. While you can compete in chess championships, scrabble tournaments, game shows and other such events, these are not mind sports.

I can imagine a sport with teams and leagues and seasons and playoffs where the games are not played on a field, but rather on a computer and where the currency of skill is the not the body but the mind. I can imagine a game that tests a great number of the abilities that comprise intelligence and scores/ranks players according to their performance. I can imagine a game that keeps your mind sharp and fit and focused just like a sport keeps your body in shape. Actually, I can imagine a lot more but I don't want to share it all with you just yet...

Hmmmm.... maybe I'll try ... try to do this thing, this.. mind sport....
